 About Fraser's Hill
Nestled amidst the tranquility of the world's oldest rainforest in Fraser's Hill. Fraser's Hill is reminiscent of the rustic solitude of the English countryside. Located 1,524 meters above sea level in the mountains of Pahang is an enchanting hill resort.
The resort is named after English adventurer, James Louis Fraser, who in the nineteenth century came to the hill to embark on a lucrative trade in tin ore. Early in the twentieth century, James Fraser suddenly disappeared.
In 1910, Bishop Ferguson Davie of Singapore came in search of Fraser, but instead discovered a perfect mountain gateway, Surveying work began in 1919 and by 1920 Fraser's Hill was well established as a mountain retreat.
Today, Fraser's Hill still retains its natural charm in spite of all the modern additions made to the hill.
Cool throughout the year at average temperatures of between 58'F to 65'F ( 14.4'C to 18'C ), the attraction of Fraser's Hill as tourist resort has not diminished through the years.
How to get to Fraser's Hill
Leisurely drive to Fraser's Hill from Kuala Lumpur takes you approximate 2 hours to get there. There are several routes to Fraser's Hill, one of the preferred routes would be to take the North-South Expressway and exit at Tanjung Malim, then head South East towards Kuala Kubu Baru (foot of Fraser's Hill). Once you get there, drive easterly following a winding road up to gap where gates (Lower Gates & Upper Gates) control the passage of traffice at the 7 KM stretch to Fraser's Hill.
